March 2007
No justice, no peace 2007
By John Felder

The man considered by many historians to be the first casualty of the American Revolutionary War was Crispus Attucks, a black man who defended a white child assaulted by a British soldier.

George Washington, the first president and founding father of this nation, would have frozen to death if Willie Lee, his slave, had not bunked with him at  Valley Forge.

President Washington fathered a child with a black woman, Venus Ford. The child’s name was West Ford.

Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence using the Holy Quran and the Magna Carta as guides. President Jefferson fathered five children with Sally Hemmings, a black woman.

In the month of March, which is women’s history month, minority women and men mourn a lack of justice for all Americans, regardless of race, color, or creed. Yet the code of law enforcement across this nation tolerates racist police brutality. Very seldom are police officers found liable for any crimes they commit. Violence is handed out by the arm of the law to blacks.

In the criminal system, there must be a reason for excessive force to be used.  This explanation seems especially needed considering that a high percentage of defendants who die in police custody are of color. The job of police is to apprehend criminals and bring them to court for trial, based on allegations.

Attorneys take an oath before the bar association to swear to make an honest search for the truth, through direct and cross examination.

Blacks and other races of color have built this nation, only to be forced to live as second-class citizens, below the favored majority ruling class. The newspapers, television stations, and the law have been revamped to maintain the purity of that class.

There is no difference between a black billionaire and a white billionaire. They both want another billion dollars. Capitalism, greed, and corruption are steering this country into civil chaos. Conscious groups are rallying for change.  Organizers of the People’s Institute and Aesthetic Realism are working to erase racism and change the mindset of the central government.

The Police Benevolent Association chief representative was on the news speaking in defense of the officers indicted in the Sean Bell murder.

But let’s just think: What if the undercover officers who are very seldom found guilty of any crimes they commit stopped at every red light, did not drive city vehicles around New York City while talking on cell phones, speeding at 60 MPH in the city and endangering the lives of innocent pedestrians? What if they were not guilty of brutally beating suspects of color as the suspects waited to speak with their attorneys?

Let there be justice or let there be no peace.
