From 8am-9pm the Hostos Center for the Arts and Culture hosts African-based spirituality- the Cimmaronajae/Maroon Spirit Conference. The event is presented by the African Diaspora Institute of the Franklyn F. William Carribean Culture Center. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. ”Truth, Faith, Justice: Serving the Latino Migrant Community in NYC,” a presentation of the New York Association for New Americans and La Negrita Productions, will be held at the Lehman Center for the Peforming Arts at 250 Bedford Park Blvd. West. The presentation runs from 7:30 to 10:30 pm.

The Hostos Center for the Arts and Culture at 450 Grand Concourse (149th Street) Presents “Brisas Sureñas: Bomba, Plena y Ponce.” This event, which begins at 5:30, marks the debut of Felipe Garcia’s bomba plena exhibition of photographs taken in his hometown of Ponce, Puerto Rico. The Bronx Library Center and the Bronx Council on the Arts present “First Wednesdays” at the Bronx Library Center, at 310 East Kingsbridge Road.
